POPPYFIELD STUD

NETHERLAND DWARF RABBITS

rare colours bred by Jacki Clark

I live in Glasgow and have bred netherland dwarfs since 1996.  I exhibit the rabbits

regularly in Scottish regional shows and National Dwarf shows in England though I've

always preferred to spend time in the shed looking after and observing the stock.

My dwarfs are line bred to produce sealpoints, beige and fawn, using the non-extension

colour gene needed to create these colours.

Sealpoint colour needs a recessive gene, usually c (rew) to give the correct show

colouring.  I'm selectively breeding to replace rew c with himalayan (ch) which will

improve the colouring on the body, points and tail underside in the sealpoints.

I'm also creating orange mantle pattern netherland  dwarfs, now starting to work with

the F4 generation.
